Lest We Forget

Creative Arts Plus- Friday
(JK&SK)

Watercolour painting inspired by Monet's Wild Poppies. Children enjoyed hearing the story Katie Meets the Impressionists by James Mayhew after completing these wonderful watercolour masterpieces and talking about poppies for Remembrance Day.

Two Year Olds
We are talking about all things red this week and children created these wonderful ladybugs. During circle the children played a hide and seek game with red toys and sang a song about who was wearing red today!

Inspired by Henri Matisse

Creative Arts Plus-Wednesday
(JK&SK)

The children explored the works of Henri Matisse in his later years when his art changed and he began to create wonderful cutouts. Look for hints of Matisse's influence in some of your books at home. Eric Carle's illustrations used colorful tissue and paper cutouts. Ezra Jack Keats also used paper collage to create many of his pictures. It will be interesting to see if your children can find any similarities between their story books and the work of Matisse. Enjoy!!

Preschool Songs

In this house there is a room,
In this room there is a bed.
And in that bed lies a little teddy bear,
With a very bad cold in his head.
Achoo!!
With a very bad cold in his head.
Achoo!!

And if this little teddy bear,
Stays in bed and takes care,
Soon he'll be up,
And running all about.
And have no more cold in his head,
Achoo!!
And have no more cold in his head,
Achoo!!

This is a song we use for the morning classes for our health and safety week.
